I would like to use Western Digital IDE (EIDE, ATA and PATA are equal) as an external hard drive. Purchase a housing, decent, cheap, that an external USB hard drive cable and stick to it used.
Examples of external enclosures for IDE HD,

The chances are good that you put your IDE drive has a higher priority in the boot order, I have nothing against the port bridge, because it is different. starting at the bridge, meaning if it uses the same data cable for two hard drives ...
Just go into the BIOS and set SATA in a higher priority in the trunk ...
But make sure first that are recognized both drives, if not, then enter the data and / or bad in the power cord connection to ...
it is an external drive that you already have your second hard drive starts ext (not from. hard disk can be read as a boot drive in BIOS Windows). it requires only external cable DC converter and the IDE-USB data cables, especially if you purchase the item. Hardcover understand.
